Self Guided Walking & Cycling Tours
Our Self Guided Tours are tailored to smaller groups of walkers or cyclists who want to explore the National Famine Way at their own pace. From arrival Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, we will take care of your accommodation, luggage, and holiday itinerary.
Accommodation is a combination of local family-run bed and breakfasts, hotels or guesthouses, where you will enjoy a friendly Irish welcome and homely comforts. Self-guided tours are perfect for couples or as part of a group of friends or family. Early booking is advisable to ensure the availability of accommodation.
You can choose to walk the full 165km National Famine Way or complete either the first or second half at your ease.

Terms & Conditions
A 30% deposit is required to confirm all bookings for both self-guided walking and cycling tours.
Due to Covid-19, we have implemented the following flexible cancellation policy for 2022. Should it not be possible to travel or Famine Way tours are forced to cancel your booking due to travel restrictions in Ireland or in your home country due to COVID-19 at the time of travel, deferment to a later travel date or a voucher for the amount paid will be offered in lieu of a refund. Full refunds may be available upon request.
All other reasons for cancellation by a client will be subject to our standard terms and conditions listed here.
It is advisable to book your trip early to ensure all accommodation is available for the duration of your holiday. If booking within Thirty of your tour, then full payment is required.
Once we receive your deposit, we will make all the reservations for your tour. The balance is due four weeks before the start of your tour. Places cannot be held if full payment has not been received by then.
Booking Single Rooms – Please note many of our accommodation providers are reluctant to take bookings for multiple single rooms, we can accept no more than three single rooms per booking.
Our Cancellation charges are as follows:
Over thirty-one days – Administration Fee €50
Sixteen to Thirty days – 60% of tour price
Eight to Fifteen days – 80% of tour price
Seven days or less – 100% of tour price
Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance prior to commencement of your tour..
